Wanted: The perfect Pet

“Wanted: The perfect Pet” by Fiona Robertson is about how a boy finds a duck dressed up as a dog and thinks it’s a dog. The duck reads a news saying that a boy is looking for a dog and that there will be a reward. So the duck dresses up as a dog and Henry (the boy) accepts the “dog” into his house. Though the “dog” didn’t act like a dog so Henry was disappointed. When he realized that the duck is not a dog, he says “you might not be a dog but you are not just a duck”. So the boy called the duck spot. I have few connections with this book. Long time ago, I was looking for a pet, especially for dogs. I really wanted a dog, so I begged and begged. Though instead, I got fish as my pet. First, I was disappointed but soon, I started liking the fish. The fish may not be a perfect pet but fish was a good pet for me. Online, I saw a post where someone tried to act rich because a very rich person said “I will hang around with some rich for a whole day”. The guy trying to act rich got a call from the rich guy and went to hang around with the rich guy. The guy trying to act rich got exposed but the rich guy still thought it was cool and they became friends.

The Boy Who Harnessed The Wind

“The Boy Who Harnessed The Wind” written by William Kamkwamba is a book for 11-13 and it’s about how a poor boy generates electricity for his country by only using wind power. I have few connections between this book, such as solving bad bathroom odor at the school I used to go in Korea. The washroom at that school stank so I could barely breathe. One day, I brought a wet tissue and coated it with scented markers. I did that to 3 more tissues and placed it around the washroom, the next day, the washroom started smelling like fruits and everyone was happy. Recently, I saw a post on instagram and which about about a guy making making is own power to run his house with liquid. So I thought it was cool and I bought a power generating kit which used water to generate electricity.

After The Fall How Humpty Dumpty

The picture book After The Fall How Humpty Dumpty written and illustrated by Dan Santat is about an egg overcoming his fear of height.  The egg once fell from a high place which made him fear height. So he had to give up some of his favourite things to do. He then decides that he should not give up and try to overcome his fear. One day he climb a wall, he kept on climbing looking up, not down. When he finally reached the top, he overcame his fear. The egg then hatches and flies away as a bird. In my life, I have few connections between this book, I once was afraid of closed rooms because I felt trapped. Though as I spent more time in elevators and rooms, I overcame my fears and I am now more comfortable being in a closed room. Secondly, I play a popular game “Fortnite” which can be played on many different platforms. I started playing on mobile but somethings was not right, so I bought a ps4 and started playing on it. At first I was a bad at the game, but I didn’t give up and became a decent player. It wasn’t very fun playing on a controller and I wasn’t improving. Then I bought a keyboard and a mouse to play on it. First, it took me longer to get used to it then on controller but the result was so much better then trying on controller, my building skills were better. Even Though It was hard getting used to new platforms but I didn’t give up and became a better player. Thirdly, long time ago when my mom told me will be going to Canada and I was worried, but when I actually arrived I was happy and I didnt want to go back. During my life, I had many things I had to come over with but I didn’t give up.

The Noisy Paintbox Tire Colours and Sounds of kandinsky’s abstract

The Noisy Paintbox Tire Colors and Sounds of kandinsky’s abstract a true story written by Berle Romenstack and illustrated by Mary Grandpre is a wonderful book and it is about a little Russian boy who was born in 1966 loved art and and the boy wanted to learn how to make art work. After he learned how to draw and became a professional, he was award Nobel prize in literature in 1906.  I have few connections with this book. First, in this book the boy loves art, I also love doing art and I have drawn many things before. Also when I grow up, my for my job, I am going to a video game art digital artist. This book reminds me of when I watched a video where a poor boy started to draw and then slowly became successful. In the book the boy decides to start drawing and slowly he became a professional artist. Third, this book influenced me to never give up and continue and this book also influences many other people to never give up.

Wangar’is Trees Of Peace: A true Story From Africa

The picture book “Wangari’s Trees Of Peace A True Story From Africa” by Jeanette also illustrated by Jeanette is a true story book placed at Africa, the book is about planting trees. In the book, people stopped planting trees because they get paid a little. I have few connections between trees. Long time ago, I wanted an apple tree so I planted a whole apple and expected it to grow. Of course it didn’t grow. Also In a video game, I kept on planting trees but the antagonist kept on destroying my trees. So I had to capture him to stop him, after my platform was full of trees with clean air. Overall I had few connections between the book and I.

The Fantastic Undersea Life Of Jacques Cousteau

The picture book “The Fantastic Undersea Life Of Jacques Cousteau written and illustrated by Dan Yaccarino is a true story book. This book is for age groups between 7 to 11 year olds. I really liked the illustrations on this book because it was hand drawn not drawn online. This book is about a sick, weak boy named Jacques and his doctors told him to swim everyday to be stronger. When he first interacted with water, he fell in love with it. When he was a grown adult, he got into a car and was badly hurt. The doctors told him to wear braces but he refused. So he swam in the mediterranean sea everyday. So Cousteau’s friends gave him a pair of goggles, which changed his life. Later as time passed on, Jacques Cousteau made a first full length, full colour, underwater TV show using the camera he bought. He bought a boat for his tv show and for research. He went on a trip with his friends and when he came back, he realized that the mediterranean sea was polluted was so he created Cousteau society.

Connections Enemy Pie

There are few connections between a picture book “Enemy Pie” by Derek Munson . In the book, the boy had an enemy named “Jeremy”. In my life I had several people that I didn’t like or hated. Though I became friends with them just so I can lure them into my trap. When I became friends, I was happy with what I had so we became best friends. This book also reminds me when I had dinner with my friend. It also reminds me of when I asked my friends if they want to play because in this book, the boy asks Jeremy if he wanted to play. In the book the boy and Jeremy spends a day together, eat and plan to play again tomorrow. This book reminded me of few things in my past and I really enjoyed reading this book.
